Warner Bros. Puts Together a Lego Film
Writing the screenplay will be Dan and Kevin Hageman. It is believed that the project will be family comedy and it will mix live action and animation. Warner Bros. is revealing very little about the plot, but it is being called "an action adventure set in a Lego world."
Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes) is going to be producing the film.
A Lego film has proved quite elusive for directors and producers for several years. Lego has been approached many times and they have turned down the ideas. They have only done direct-to-DVD animated fare that is based on its line of Bionicle toys.
Lego liked the idea that Lin and the Hageman brought to the film. Specifically, "a fun factor, creativity and that imagination has no boundaries," Lin said.
Apparently, the development process has been happening for a year. The writers and the producer have been going back and forth to Denmark so they could work with Lego on the project.

Kinda defeats the point of Lego. You can build YOUR OWN stuff and make YOUR OWN stories with them. It helped introduce me to the idea of World Building. What fun would it be watching someone else play Lego for 2 hours? :shrug: We'll just have to wait and see what comes out of this one.

awesome idea for a movie... interested to say where it goes. most intriguing is that inanimate objects obviously cannot be the major character, but how they still play the namesake of the movie and pivotal "character" will be interesting.
