Warner Bros. Prepares Live-action Jetsons Movie

Movie Picture
Warner Bros. is bringing The Jetsons back to the big screen in a live-action film.

The storyline will be based on the popular animated Hanna-Barbera TV show, says Variety, which revolved around the travails of George Jetson, wife Jane, daughter Judy, son Elroy and their dog, Astro.

Adam F. Goldberg is writing the screenplay; no word yet on a production schedule for The Jetsons.

George could only be: James H Macy, Jeff Daniels, Tim Allen, or Tom Hanks. Devito all the way as Mr. Spacely (no brainer), Spacely's wife: Edie McClurg. Rosie the robot has to be Rosie O'Donnell! Judy: Miley Cyrus with blonde wig. Jane: Cortney Cox, red wig.

Danny Devito as Mr. Spacely for sure! William H. Macy would be good. I think Will Ferrel would play George Jetson a little to slap sticky! Jim Carry would be a gamble but has more than enough ability to pull it off. Hears one to ponder. Tom hanks as George Jetson. I know he is a bit old now for the part but Mr. Hanks has the ability to transform his body to fit the roll. Just look at Castaway or Philadelphia. Even his voice is similar to George Jetsons.
I am afraid, along with seemingly everyone else in this forum, that it will be turned into a Flintstones-like movie. Maybe Robert Rodriguez would be just radical enough to keep it from that but if SpyKids is any indication of what the Jetsons would be, we don't need it! Keeping the movie true to the original vision is impotant for this movie. The vision of the future from the perspective of the 1950's is the look the Jetsons needs to keep for the set design and computer graphics. What's Peter Jackson up to these days?
