We reported way back in April 2009 that Evan Spiliotopoulos was hired to draft a script for Wanted 2. It seems the studio is going back to the original Wanted writers for the sequel. Here's what Derek Haas added in an interview about the project.
"We just always loved the Wanted world and loved working with Universal and (director) Timur (Bekmambetov) on the first one, so we're excited."
Derek Haas also said he isn't sure if Timur Bekmambetov will return to direct the sequel. He did, however, reveal a few details about the Wanted 2 plot.
"Wanted 2 is going to take off after the events of what just happened. Pick up Wesley a few years later and go back in for another round."
It has not been confirmed yet that James McAvoy will return as Wesley. No production schedule was given for Wanted 2.
Wanted 2 is in development and stars James McAvoy.

@ChiRep-1 Well I saw like 5 minutes of it on TV last night where the guy is on a train or something and he decides to not shoot the guy through the window, and it was really tedious. I mean, how much slow-mo can you need?!

@ROFLitschristian turn your brain off for a minute and watch it, if you can make it through the ridiculous skyscraper jumping scene it's actually a pretty decent film. ;)

Watched the first 15 minutes of Wanted and it was the cheesiest thing I've ever seen. I couldn't turn it off fast enough. Not deserving of a sequel.
