Wall-E Charms to the Top of the DVD Sales Charts
While animated films usually don't fare well on the rental charts, Wall-E finished with a strong second place, behind this week's rental winner, Tropic Thunder, which also scored a second-place finish in the DVD sales charts in its opening week. The only other newcomer to crack the top 10 in both charts was The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, which came in fifth place on the sales charts and sixth place on the rental charts.
On the high-def charts, Wall-E was the best-selling Blu-ray disc, with Tropic Thunder faring strong in 1080p as well with second place on the BD sales charts.
