Vin Diesel Hints at Role in 'The Avengers 2', Is He the Space Phantom?

The action star has not confirmed his involvement in this upcoming Joss Whedon sequel, only that he met with Marvel yesterday.
Vin Diesel met with Marvel yesterday, playfully teasing a potentially role in Joss Whedon's superhero ensemble The Avengers 2. He shared this news on his personal Facebook account, which included a photo of the actor standing in front of The Avengers comic book issue #2. He doesn't say which role he's being considered for, but there seem to be a few clues in the image. Check it out and read on for what he had to say.

"Marvel meeting today, only the people in the room can tell you what was discussed...P.s. Thanks to Our page, for pushing to make it happen... you know I get tunnel vision with my work... and after that meeting today... wow!"

Most fans hoped that Vin Diesel, with his baritone voice, would be playing the motion capture role of Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy. We hear that role may go to another well-known voice actor who will remain anonymous for the time being. While some reports have Vin taking on Black Panther, most would rather see him go purple-faced for the role of Thanos. He doesn't seem right for Quicksilver or Doctor Strange. But what about that new Hulked out Ant-Man (or rather Giant-Man) in the frame? Is he Biochemist Dr. Hank Pym, a role most hope goes to Nathan Fillion? Another clue offered up by the included comic is The Space Phantom, whom we see standing next to Hank. Will The Avengers 2 be based on the second issue of the comic book? That would be a neat twist. We do know that Thanos isn't the main villain, so maybe this is how everything gets tied together.

Where do you think Vin Diesel fits into the Marvel Universe?

Avengers: Age of Ultron comes to theaters May 1st, 2015 and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Elizabeth Olsen, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

Vin is hitting troll level expert lately. I don't doubt that he's angling for a meeing with Marvel, and maybe he's even had one, but all these posts he's been putting out are just adding fuel to a fire that most likely doesn't exist yet. It's a good way to get people talking and gauge what the fans think.

@undeadslayer4 ...Though I believe he would awesome as well as BP, i have a feeling its not for that role...U can already hear the sh*t hitting the fan with people saying " Oh Vin's not black and blah blah blah" . Though ethnically he is part African American, narrow minded people will just see whats on the outside and be like " yeah, but his skin isnt black so he cant be BP "

And knowing Marvel thats an issue they are gonna wanna avoid , thats why sadly i dont think its BP :-/

Well he has been campaigning a while now on wanting to play Vision, and with his comment above about having " tunnel " vision ", my money is on that...If not, i think his voice would fit well for either Thanos or Groot in GOTG, remember his voice from The Iron Giant :]
