Vera Farmiga makes her directorial debut
Vera Farmiga is set to make her directorial debut with the upcoming drama Higher Ground. According to Production Weekly, Farmiga will also headline the project.

The film will be based on Carolyn Briggs' memoir This Dark World, with Briggs adapting the screenplay alongside Tim Metcalfe. The story follows a young woman who gives herself over to a radical, apocalyptic New Testament church, and the resulting effects it has on her marriage. Filming is set to begin in Upstate New York this June.

Higher Ground was released August 26th, 2011 and stars Vera Farmiga, Donna Murphy, John Hawkes, Dagmara Dominczyk, Nina Arianda, Taissa Farmiga, Joshua Leonard, Bill Irwin. The film is directed by Vera Farmiga.
