Sorry Supes, I don't agree with you. Seems if someone is judging an entire effort by a one minute trailer they aught to know how it works but sadly, most do not. I go to the movies to suspend my imagination for an hour or so - as, I suppose you do, and what I mean by studying the movie is just that because that way when I see another Brad Anderson movie I can tell what he's improved on or re-thought. It IS an interesting process, I read quite a bit and love to figure story lines out. As you have probably guessed I am a writer and knowing what motivates people IS interesting.

@Darko and @Rudie lol.... and @Rudie I think most of us are aware of how a trailer works, bud. But you go and enjoy studying the writing, directing, and acting, I'm sure it'll be......interesting.

I LIKE Brad Anderson and Hayden Christensen. You must understand no writer/director/or actor has 100% success rate in films. You can act your socks off, stretch, grow, take risks and if the writing is bad you are left with a "I gave it my best" and that's it. Brad and Hayden were the first two attached to this project and as a movie genre I believe it's a good movie to go see. ALSO, please realize that when they make a trailer the scenes are out of sequence, spliced by an editor and made to fit a time frame of about a minute. There's only so much you can glean from a trailer but they ARE trying to peak your interest. I WILL go see this movie, probably several times as I like to "study" the writing, directing and acting...it's fun.

with @sylar - looks Biblical. for that reason i'm down. christiansen, the triteness of the elements of this and cheesiness disinterest me. seriously, what's up with all the airplanes crashing, exploding, disappearing in tv and movies now (all usually in same genre: sci-fi drama - Lost, FlashFOrward, The Event, Knowing, and this one, to name a few)?

I didn't think Anderson's Session 9 was as good as some make it to be. The Machinist was unique. Transsiberian, an excellent Hitchc*ck like thriller. I've been watching news about Vanishing on 7th Street and the bits and clips are intriguing. Actually looks a little like King's Langoliers to me. Everything I've read said the focus is not biblical though the question naturally comes up along with Croatoan and other scenarios as the survivors try to figure out what is happening and how to survive it. It looks good to me. Anderson is good at setting a mood and atmosphere.

the thing is though no matter how much sh*t we give hayden for being a bad actor, he's got it made. he's a millionaire (even though he shouldnt be) and he was in two Star Wars movies (which he sucked in). the guy has it easy

I agree that the story looks interesting but otherwise? Nothing special in the acting, but I do like Legizamo pretty good. I did take notice of the plane crashing down while Hayden has his back to it, that might be alright.
