Vanessa Redgrave Set for Robin Hood

Ridley Scott's new film just got one more prestigious addition. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vanessa Redgrave has joined the cast of Robin Hood.

Redgrave will portray Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, the mother of King John, who is played by Oscar Issacs. Also joining the cast is Lea Seydoux, who portrays Princess Isabella in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming film, Inglourious Basterds. They join the already-assembled cast of Russell Crowe as Robin Hood, Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian, Mark Strong as Sir Godfrey, the King's henchman, Scott Grimes as Welshman Will Scarlett, Kevin Durand as Scotsman Little John and Allan Dayle as the Irishman Allan Adayle.

Ridley Scott is directing from a script by Ethan Reiff & Cyrus Voris and Brian Helgeland, which chronicles Robin's days serving in King Richard's army to his return to Nottingham where he forms his band of merry bandits who challenge the Sherrif of Nottingham to prevent a war.

Production is said to start shortly on the film.

Robin Hood was released May 14th, 2010 and stars Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Max von Sydow, William Hurt, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, Danny Huston, Eileen Atkins. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.
