Vanessa Hudgens Auditions for New Moon?

It seems that the highly-popular vampire series might get a co-star from another popular teen series. According to MTV Movies Blog, High School Musical 3: Senior Year star Vanessa Hudgens has auditioned for the role of Leah Clearwater in New Moon.

The news came from the Golden Globes red carpet from New Moon actress Ashley Greene, who added, "I think she'd be great," for the role of Leah Clearwater.

Greene also added another tidbit on the status of New Moon as well.

"I hear they're doing another rewrite," the actress revealed of the in-flux script. "I'm with you guys - I'm so excited to read it."

The Twilight Saga: New Moon was released November 20th, 2009 and stars Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke, Ashley Greene, Anna Kendrick, Christian Serratos, Michael Welch. The film is directed by Chris Weitz.

    Well, if she gets chosen to play the role, we'll just have to wait. She's not a very prominent character until "Breaking Dawn" anyway, and that's the fourth and final book anyway. lolz.

    Vanessa hasn't even shown us yet that she can be mean in her upcoming movie Bandslam
    it's pretty conrast from her HSM role
    can she be an ass-kicking vampire in the Twilight series?
    i'm not so sure
    i think she's a good actress and a singer
    a star like her can only fit into so many roles, maybe not all of them

    I know how much you guys dislike her, but, if like me, you've read the book, then this might actually be a great choice! Now, for the future movies, I need to ask this question: Everyone sees her as Gabriella, the nice, "never-piss-anyone-off-and-always-play-nice" girl from the "High School Musical" films. Leah is a rather rough, tough, and snooty character. So can she do that kind of role? That's all I want to know. If the answer is yes, more power to her, then!
