Van Helsing stakes it's claim at video stores
Director Roland Emmerich's The Day After Tomorrow, starring Dennis Quaid, sold an estimated 6 million combined DVD and VHS units during its first week at retail, according to 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment executives. The disaster epic sold 2.6 million combined DVD and VHS units nationwide its first day on retail shelves Oct. 12 (HR 10/14).
Day After Tomorrow was the nation's best rental title for the week ending Oct. 17, generating an estimated $10.72 million in consumer rental spending during its first five days on rental shelves, according to Video Store magazine.
Van Helsing was released May 7th, 2004 and stars Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale, Richard Roxburgh, David Wenham, Shuler Hensley, Elena Anaya, Will Kemp, Kevin J. O'Connor. The film is directed by Stephen Sommers.
