Valkyrie Extras Seeking Legal Action After Accident

The road leading to Valkyrie's impending release has gotten bumpier yet again. According to Reuters, a group of 12 extras who are seeking $11 million in damages from United Artists, for injuries suffered on the set of Valkyrie.

The extras suffered broken bones and cuts and bruises on August 19, 2007, after a side panel broke on a truck carrying the extras as it turned a corner. A lawyer for the extras said the panel had not been properly secured on the German period truck.

"A new letter has been sent to Tom Cruise, (business partner) Paula Wagner and United Artists, in which we set out the facts of the case again and put a figure on the legal demands of our clients ... of $11 million," said lawyer Ariane Bluttner.

While a formal lawsuit has not yet been filed, Bluttner said if her clients do not receive a fair out-of-court settlement, she would submit a claim to United States courts on behalf of her clients.

Valkyrie was released December 25th, 2008 and stars Tom Cruise, Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, Carice van Houten, Thomas Kretschmann, Terence Stamp, Eddie Izzard. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.

I 100% agree W./"The Visionary: WATCHMAN"...Just like with alot films (Hello ..."Harry Potter" & "Babylon A.D") W./all the Re-Writes, the pusing around of realeae dates Etc...etc...just release the damn film!

& I would think that the studios already compensated
for pain & suffering and time lost etc. I read somewhere that Tom Cruise even paid all medical expenses for these people! All this is about more money!!!!

  5. PUNISHER

Blah blah blah. Pay the whiny bitches. They are just digging a hole for themselves. They will never get to be extras or anything else in the film industry ever again, who the hell would want to work with them? No one.

By the way this is a very good movie. If you can just get passed the accents or rather lack of accents, then this is a very enjoyable, suspenseful movie. The man that plays Hitler, while not to many appearances, does an excellent job. He looks exactly like him. It was good but Singer needs to get back to X Men.
