Vadim Perelman is set to rewrite and direct the upcoming drama Atlas Shrugged for Lionsgate. According to Variety, Angelina Jolie is attached to star in the film.

Randall Wallace wrote the original screenplay, which Perelman will update. The plot centers on a worldwide industrialist strike that shuts down the entire planet. It is based on a 1957 novel by Ayn Rand.

The film is set to go before the camera as early as the first quarter of 2008.
