Uwe Boll Goes Online for Blackout

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Uwe Boll is seeking funding via to internet for his next film. The director is looking for "co-producers" to shell out 33 euros ($49) each for his next movie, Blackout.

Blackout is being described as terrorist thriller.

The plan is to raise $18.5 million via the film's Web site, TheBlackoutFilm.com.

For those who put up the dough, they will get "a limited-edition DVD of the film plus a chance to win a trip to the set and other prizes."

This opportunity will be available until March 31.

If the director only raises 43% of the money by then, he might make the movie with reduced funds. If he doesn't go that route the investors will get their money back.

    I seriously want to sit down and watch one of Uwe's films while sitting right beside him. As we watch it I will point out all of the crap he has covered the film in, maybe that will convince him to stop making movies.

    Yeah, how can somebody f*ck up Bloodrayne that badly? Awesome game. The movie...vampire, medieval, modern dialogue with that time era... basically it was a different movie. They borrowed the name Bloodrayne and stuck it on the film. Literally has nothing to do with the games besides the vampire herself.

    That's funny. I bet no one wanted to give poor Uwe Boll money, so now he's on a quest to see if there are any fans out there. I like Uwe Boll's films because they are funny, not seriously. And if I had money to spare, sure, I'd help out Uwe Boll. Plus it says I'll get a copy of the movie for me to cherish for the rest of my life.

    What "Fans" - I have yet to meet a single person who felt Uwe Boll was a beneficial contributor to modern cinema. Kudos to the guy for being totally confident in himself - all Kudos taken away for him being a sadly abysmal director. Still, if it is funded by and made for his "fans", and will not taint the theaters with its presence, I don't see any way we can hold anything against him for this one. So, best of luck, Mr. Boll, use their money wisely.
