"The rumor about INDY 5 is completely false. Nothing has changed, we are not shooting next year and still in the research phase...
We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further Indiana Jones 5 news as soon as more information comes in.
Original Story: We reported back in March that Harrison Ford revealed that the story for the new Indiana Jones 5 film had been "hatched" and now it seems we have some new details on that story. New Zealand site Stuff is reporting that Indiana Jones 5 will start filming next year. Here's an excerpt from the site's article.
"Indiana Jones 5 will begin shooting next year, and much of the plot line will be centred around the Bermuda Triangle, an area over the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft are said to have disappeared.
"George (Lucas) and Steven (Spielberg) have been working on a script and it's almost there," a source explained.
"Harrison is on stand-by for filming next year. This looks like being an emotional and exciting conclusion to the franchise, with Indy facing his biggest challenge yet."

The site also added that Shia LaBeouf will reprise his role as Mutt Williams and will have, "a central role as Indy's son."
Indiana Jones 5 comes to theaters in 2012.

So it goes from saying that theyre not shooting next year and now they are? Heres the thing, the last one blew, and Harrison is pushing 70. Give it up.

i think George Lucas and Steven Spielberg should get the rights to do" WOLFENSTEIN " INTO A MOVIE that would be very cool just as good as indiana jones.....

what ancient artifact can be sought in the Bermuda Triangle? all of Indy's skills and props ( gun and whip) will be useless in the water! bring back the World War II era backdrops and sets , get rid of the CGI and use real stunt people and have Nazi's in the film ( love watching Indy get the best of the Nazi's!) maybe a story about the Spear of Destiny, Solomon's Temple, Quest for Excalibur or the Trident of Poseidon which could be a lead up to the Bermuda Triangle angle. need more info on this movie but i know one thing, bringing back Indy's son is just plain dumb!
this is Indiana Jones not Sanford & Son! get back to what this character was about at the beginning in Raiders of the Lost Ark and people will want to see IJ5 even more...

By the way, I ment "paying tribute to the other Indy movies is fine, aslong as every other scene in the movie ISN'T taken straight from them. And by the way, I like Temple of Doom and the Last Crusade, but I really would have wanted a movie that was Raiders of the Lost Ark meets the Last Crusade (I love Raiders's old fashioned, down and gritty action and Crusade's focus on character and occausional humor).

I really want the franchise to end on a better note. The last Indy movie felt like Crusade meets Temple of Doom meets the Mummy meets the X-files. I hope Spielberg and Lucas can pull it together and make Mutt into a real man (call it "character developement"), avoid going going over the top (I know that the standards for what is over the top in the Indiana Jones franchise is hazy, but nuking the fridge? Seriously), avoid aliens (aliens aren't too over-the-top for the Indiana Jones franchise, they just don't fit. Putting aliens in Indiana Jones is like mixing pickles with peanut butter), hold back on the CGI (way, way back Lucas. I can understand needing CGI I for a background here are there, are for the grand finale, but I KNOW that you know that the prairie dogs were overkill), don't be afraid to give Indy more action (He had to run a gauntlet in KOTCS intro, but them someone suddenly decided that Harrison Ford should sit out a little more), be original (paying tribute to the other Indy movies is fine, aslong as every other scene in the movie is taken straight from them), make the movie a little deeper, a little rougher, more serious, more down to Earth, and triple check for glaring potholes (premade roads in the jungle?)

uggghhh... history, man, history!!!! that is Indy's forte and what made the first three pics so epic. aliens, mythology and folklore is way out of his area of expertise and our interest level (at least in an Indy film). plus, news that "Mutt" is back (what a stupid name) makes it even worse.

The pacific? Perhaps we'll get some shots of Shia surfing or Indiana sunbathing, only to get water spilled on him by the mischievous new character BoBo the chimp.

RocknRolla
This sounds like it's going to be good. Hopefully it will be better than the last Indy movie. However I had to laugh at this line: "This looks like being an emotional and exciting conclusion to the franchise" Even though the franchise has to end sometime, you that if this does extremely well(which it probably will) then they'll just keep the franchise going with a sixth Indy movie. Best of luck to them making this into a great Indy flick. Just don't go CGI heavy like last time, don't let Shia swing with any monkeys, & keep Indy out of refrigerators lol.

The Narrator: The Better Man
Well I am up for it. Hopefully they fixed the flaws of the last film. And hopefully, George has little say so, other than the script he co-wrote.
