Original Story:
While Flight of the Conchords will fly no more, it seems one of the creators of the HBO series is having no trouble finding work. Vulture is reporting that Flight of the Conchords co-creator James Bobin has been offered to direct the next Muppet movie for Disney. It seems that Disney isn't the only studio to reach out to Bobin, as the site also reports he has been offered Bridesmaids as well, a Judd Apatow vehicle that was also co-written by actress Kristen Wiig. The film centers on two women battling it out to plan a friend's wedding.
The new Muppet movie, which had previously been referred to as The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made, was written by Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller and star Jason Segel. The site reports that while Stoller was originally set to direct the film, but he is too busy in post-production of his new film Get Him to the Greek
An insider close to the Muppet film told the site that, "the movie is James' to direct - if he wants it." It was also said that they hoped to start production on the film towards the end of summer.
The Muppets was released November 23rd, 2011 and stars Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, Donald Glover, Danny Trejo. The film is directed by James Bobin.

I loved the Muppets when I was younger...If I watched one of those original movies like "The Great Muppet Caper" or "The Muppet Movie" right now, I would probably still love them... The only sad thing here is that "Flight of the Conchords" is over. The director should get Bret and Jermaine for small roles in this film so they too have work again...
