David Koepp will rewrite Chris Pine's Untitled Jack Ryan project
Back in February, we reported that screenwriter Steven Zaillian was hired to rewrite the original script by Adam Cozad. However, Steven Zaillian dropped out before starting any actual work.
David Koepp continues to be one of the most sought-after screenwriters in Hollywood, with blockbusters to his credit such as Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, and Spider-Man, just to name a few.
The Untitled Jack Ryan Project will be an origin story which allegedly starts out with a helicopter crash that nearly kills the 23-year-old Jack Ryan (Chris Pine), who is the only survivor.
Jack Bender is attached to direct the Untitled Jack Ryan Project for Paramount Pictures, which is eyeing a January 2012 start for principal photography.
