Vin Diesel and Paul Walker reunite for the fifth film in the popular franchise
The studio has inked deals with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, director Justin Lin and producer Neal Moritz to come back to the franchise.
Diesel and Walker were not in the third installment in the series but came back for last year's fourth installment. The Fast & Furious was the biggest moneymaker in the franchise. It was also Universal's top grosser of 2009. It took in more than $350 million worldwide.
Chris Morgan is penning Fast Five. This will be the third time he and Lin have gotten together for a Fast & Furious film. The new story finds stars Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) as fugitives that are being chased by legendary lawmen.
The film will shoot in late 2010 and is planned for a 2011 release.

No Jorden Brewster? Damn! And who cares if they're broke. They own these roles. I'm not to big on cheese, but grille me up a fast and furious cheese sandwich! Action, cool cars and hot females, yay!!!

So that orangutan & surfer boy are back to embarrass themselves huh? Good. keep doing sh*t like this, it'll ensure that you NEVER get neare any GOOD projects!
Being a fellow gearhead, i appreciate good REAL racing, wrc, toca or F1 live. But it takes more than a few wheel spins and oversteers to watch a film about it.
The first was unique; introduce the subculture of street racing and made it fun. The third(despite the gay acting) had a cohesive story and a touch on japan. The last installment was without a doubt the worst of the lot! But they will continue to make this crap as long as they make the high box office.

Stop it. Dont encourage this. Obviously, Walker and Diesel are broke. They both were supposed to be big time by now (Running Scared and Pitch Black were cool), but idk what happened.
I think Vin would revive his career if he chose to be Apocalypse in the new X-Men. There isnt a more perfect cast for a marvel villain in hollywood (Besides Ian Mckellan).

The first and most recent were good movies. I am all for another one after they just saved the franchise.

Fast Five sounds like a crime drama. I am a big fan of the franchise I have the first three, saw the 4th in theaters. Just sucks that they murdered Letty. Is Dom's sister going to be apart of this?

so is this the next rocky or something. It's never ending. They should just do away with this franchise and start a new street racing/legal racing franchise. Walker and Diesel are just horrible, it pains me to watch those guys.

Is it just me or are these guys getting really old looking?

of course walker and diesel are back. both were humbled after dismal box office showings in other films (especially diesel) and found out they're not as bankable as they thought. if either hope to keep up their way of life they'll be milking this franchise till it goes directly to video (and even then they might not stop).

Seriously u guys dont get sick of tight shots of wheels spinning out and Vin Diesel trying to act? Way to easily pleased.

the only complaint I have about the fourth outing was the story, but otherwise I found it well done. I'm up for another round, sure hope the new story has teeth.

IamthatGuy, the last F&F movie had a consensus that it was the best movie in the franchise, so, if you didn't like it, quit "wasting your time" with any more sequels - it's not for you.
These car/action movies are unabashed thrill rides, not serious meditations on life or Oscar bait...they are filmic, adrenaline escaped for 90 minutes featuring badass cars & scenic vapid, hot girls! With the two leads back, Diesel & Walker, I'm sure that the producers & director will make....another great car movie!

I'm all for another Fast & The Furious film but who the hell comes up with these titles? I mean is "Fast Five" the best they can come up with? That title is about as gay as "2 Fast 2 Furious" if not gayer!!! lol just call the damn thing "The Fast & The Furious 5"
