Universal has bought the rights to the cult comic book, Cobalt 60.

They've hired Zack Snyder to direct the film adaptation of the Vaughn Bode series that takes place in a postapocalyptic world inhabited by mutants and fantastical creatures, and follows the masked hero Cobalt 60; The Hollywood Reporter adds he embarks on a quest to avenge his parents, who were murdered by the evil Strontium 90.

The search for a writer is under way for Cobalt 60.
