Universal is going with a whole new playbook with their next project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has picked up The Adventurer's Handbook.

Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman will star in the film, from a script written by Matt Spicer, Max Winkler and Hill himself, adapted from the Mick Conefrey book. Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod) is in negotiations to direct.

The film will follow the adventures of four friends who go on worldwide adventures, which are inspired by the tales of explorers that Conefrey mentions in his book.

The film is planned to start production sometime this year.
