Marcy Kaplan has sold the idea for her film Replacing the Nanny to Universal Pictures. According to Variety, Kaplan will write the screenplay as well.

The film revolves around the traumatic experiences a new mother faces when she finds the perfect nanny and then has to replace her. She based the idea on her own personal experiences. Kaplan stated, "I can only write what I know, and I think that the bizarre relationship that we develop with nannies is something that is relatable to a lot of mothers."

Kaplan said that she was writing the screenplay for a certain actress, but wouldn't name the person. The film does not have a set start date at this time.
