Universal Moves The Wolfman... Again

It seems audiences are going to have to wait a little bit long to see Benecio del Toro in full wolf-mode. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures has delayed the release of The Wolfman yet again, moving the film from its November 6 release to February 12, 2010.

The studio cited, in part, post-production work that would need longer to complete for the film's marketing campaign, even though a trailer is still scheduled to hit theaters on August 21. The film will now open in a crowded President's Day weekend lineup that includes a 3-D re-release of Beauty and the Beast, Robert Pattinson's Remember Me, Jessica Biel and Bradley Cooper's Valentine's Day and Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightning Thief.

Universal has slotted The Fourth Kind in the November 6th slot and the Matt Damon film Green Zone, which reunited the actor with director Paul Greengrass, has been given a March 12, 2010 release date. The studio also handed out release dates for MacGruber (April 16) and the Judd Apatow-produced Get Him to the Greek (June 11).

The Wolfman stars Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving, Art Malik and will hit theaters nationwide on February 12, 2010.

The Wolfman was released February 12th, 2010 and stars Simon Merrells, Gemma Whelan, Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro, Mario Marin-Borquez, Asa Butterfield, Cristina Contes, Anthony Hopkins. The film is directed by Joe Johnston.

I forgot all about this movie. I thought they were pushing back pre-production in reference to this article's title. It's nice to hear it's nearly finished though. But too bad it didn't make the Halloween season.

"Could Care Less!" implies you're still somewhat excited for it.
"Couldn't care less" would mean you've reached your point of not caring at all...which is what I think you meant.

lol, wasn't the footage some kind of teaser trailer, Cell?

if so here it is, its like a 2min something trailer, its f*cking epic as hell

I saw that and it looked f*cking awesome, i also watched one day of them shooting the film, on Eton Forest, Benico like wakes up all covered in blood, sh*t was the most amazing thing i ever saw, and i had the Robin Hood set a bit further down the forest, lol attended that the next day, that's look very good as well.

Scott's Robin Hood, will definately be wicked and well Wolfman i'm obviously amped for because despite its a classic, which still lives up to today, this deserves a remake and it looks like its being treated with care...

Also i've been hearing news that were getting a brand new trailer next month on on the 21st of august, Universal confirmed this.
But a rumour is circulating that James Cameron has ordered the new trailer to be dropped on to his Avatar Previews for Avatar Day...

This comes as no surprise as news broke earlier this month that six weeks of reshoots would be taking place since they weren't happy with the transformation sequences as well as the overall design of The Wolfman. A rumor floating around is that Universal spent $10-$30 million on reshoots in England and that the scenes had a lot to do with The Wolfman make-up since it "was too much like the original." Another rumor is that Rick Baker (who did the amazing transformation sequences in An American Werewolf in London) was brought in to direct practical transformation work since the CGI wasn't working. I'm all for the practical effects. Baker's work on AAWIL still stands up today since he went the practical route with makeup effects instead of CGI. It was at last year's Comic-Con where we saw the first footage of the film (see below) and that's all that's surfaced thus far. The footage was spectacular, but with no Wolfman news at this year's con and little to no news on the film since then (other than reshoots) pushing it back is probably the best solution. Although, this was my most anticipated film of 2009...
