Universal Likes Little Fockers

In a story from Risky Biz Blog, it seems that the third installment to Universal's Meet the Parents franchise is moving along.

Titled Little Fockers, John Hamburg has come aboard to rewrite the screenplay from an earlier version by Larry Stuckey.

Jay Roach, who directed the first two films in the series, will not be directing this project.

Currently producers are talking to Paul Weitz who is known for such films as In Good Company. Another name being bandied about is Peyton Reed who directed Yes Man.

Universal and Tribeca Productions are said to have this project on the fast track.

Ben Stiller, Robert DeNiro and Owen Wilson are in talks to star.

i liked the first two, so the third one will be good as long as they dont fock it up by switching directors

This franchise is Focking hilarious. But no Jay Roach at the helm? Everytime movies switch directors for film #3 it sucks, not like the other 2. And Owen Wilson stars? It may be focking retarded.... But I'll still see it.

It's funny. While doing press appearances for "Meet the Fockers", Ben Stiller, when asked about a third movie, said he wouldn't want to do it because he didn't want to play Greg Focker for the rest of his life. Way to sell out your laurels, Ben.

It could be good. Just wish they kept Roach as the director.

I knew this was coming. Hopefully they will get EVERYONE back, including Streisand and Hoffman. I think they can fork over the dough. Meet the Fockers was a monumental success. Not particularly a great movie, but made tons of cash. This has potential.
