No production schedule has been released for this film.

I really liked this movie, but a sequel is even more unnecessary than the unambiguous last two minutes of the film, which prevented it from being truly great.

If it's a sequel it will be Reynold's character continuing the story with the agencies of the world after his ass

Personally I feel like Ryan clearly has the range and probably is more entertaining than both Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner in a role of this type so it is nice to see him in it. I really can't wait to see where it goes.

@youngrizo Definitely. Universal is trying to make this their "next" Bourne-type franchise. If you have any doubt, just look at their posters, they're EXACTLY the same:

I'm not even surprised, the ending of Safe House almost felt like an origin story for Reynolds character.

Don't make a sequel, make a prequel. With Denzel Washington and Robert Patrick as the leads.

Like the first one, This one has to be a different name, kind of like the 0007 movies (books) the same characters but different stories. That is how i see it, I know this movie was not a book first but you get the idea, This film does not need a sequel but i think it will get one. @jimthar i hope they don't do that, I hate when that happens

@jimthar or it could be a legit sequel with bigger scope and the cast returning

liked the first one but it doesn't need a sequel. we all know that the "sequel" is going to be some crap movie that has nothing to do with the first that they're just going to slap the SAFE HOUSE title on in the hopes of making money off of name recognition.

  15. Youngrizo

I think they wanna make it a franchise int he vein of the Bourne films but likely with a more Jack Ryan feel. The audience likes this kinda stuff right now so it would be cheap and easy to make

I loved the first film, but it definitely doesn't need a sequel. Boy am I tired of studios making sequels to films that don't need a sequel to begin with.
