@jimthar If i am not mistaken, Evan Almighty was only like a spin-off of the Evan Baxter character played by Steve Carell in the Bruce Almighty movie.

i love BA and think it's hilarious but i think it might be a bit late for a sequel. especially since they already MADE a sequel with EA. i've liked some of carreys later movies like THE NUMBER 23 and YES MAN. i think he should stick with stuff like that.

They probably decided to wait a bit until making a sequel to Bruce Almighty.

@themoviefanatic I realize that. But it was still their chance to make a sequel. They failed, so there's no point in going back now.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective was great, some of you may think it's dumb, but if you rewatch the scenes you can easily tell it was a vehicle for Jim to show his true talent and how funny he can really be. The impressions, the facial expressions, the movements. That movie blew him up. Now the second one, he was trying too hard to make the character work again, but the first is historical and comedic genius.

It could be good, if they don't reference the second bluster and maybe get Aniston back. Make it the direct sequel. But just when I thought Jim was coming back after 2008's Yes Man. But I guess he's been laying low after that one. I don't wanna see him fall off.

if he wants money that bad then go to TV instead. Sequels off his past films should be avoided at all costs.

Carrey's career is about to take its place next to DeNiro's in the Hollywood graveyard.

I loved Bruce Almighty, but the fact that they already did Evan Almighty and failed really bodes poorly.

yup it's official. the well is drying up for carey. if he is returning to projects like this, then he's doing nothing but milking golden cow franchises. granted, this is one that can be done (and dumb and dumber), but if he hadn't returned to them before, but is willing now, that is more telling of his career than it is these sequels and their "quality".

I like Bruce Almighty but I don't really want to see a sequel. I would much rather see him do the sequel to Dumb & Dumber.

I must find a thick wooden board to bash my head with. No sequel please, Bruce Almighty is a so-so type flick.

Bruce Almighty wasn't one of Jim Carrey's better roles. The movie slid under the radar when it was released. Now Ace Ventura would be HILARIOUS to see a sequel developed for.
