United 93 To Open Tribeca

The world premiere of the Paul Greengrass film United 93 will occur on the opening night of this year's Tribeca Film Festival.

The Hollywood Reporter says the founders of the festival chose the film for its depiction of the hijacked plane whose passengers tried to take control of it before it crashed in a field outside Shanksville, Pa. The Tribeca Film Festival was created in response to terrorist attacks that brought down the World Trade Center in their neighborhood.

Friends and family of the passengers aboard the ill-fated flight, members of other Sept. 11 groups, and first responders to the tragedy will be in attendance for the April 7th premiere. For more information on the Tribeca Film Festival, Click Here!.

United 93 opens in theaters on April 28th.

United 93 was released April 28th, 2006 and stars J.J. Johnson, Gary Commock, Polly Adams, Opal Alladin, Starla Benford, Trish Gates, Nancy McDoniel, David Alan Basche. The film is directed by Paul Greengrass.
