Underworld: Rise of the Lycans Trailer Is Here

Apple has just released the trailer for the upcoming threequel, Underworld 3: The Rise of the Lycans, which is set for release on January 23, 2009. The film stars Rhona Mitra, Michael Sheen, Bill Nighy and Kevin Grevioux. Check out the new trailer below.

This prequel story traces the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires known as Death Dealers and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor, the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Sonja, in his battle against the Death Dealer army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.

FX artist Patrick Tatopoulos, who developed the creatures for the first two films, is directing.

Underworld 3: The Rise of The Lycans was released January 23rd, 2009 and stars Michael Sheen, Bill Nighy, Rhona Mitra, Steven Mackintosh, Kevin Grevioux, David Aston, Geraldine Brophy, Leighton Cardno. The film is directed by Patrick Tatopoulos.

    This trailer Rocks! This compensates for Kate Beckinsale not returning (thank her director/husband)...Rhona Mitra is phuckin' gorgeous, even more so than Kate, but, not as good as actress (see Doomsday).

    I love the first movie and like the second. Hope i love this one. Hope this movie shows us all some cool new moves, like the first movie did. I'll miss both Marcus and selene. but ok. And Lucian(micheal sheen) WOW! I'm seeing him in a new light. He didn't look like that in the Queen. LOL

    So Rhona obviously dies at the end of this movie lol. My 2nd question which kinda answers and probes kennyrocks comment...well if at the end of the film, the "lycans" kill her parents or whatever, she would be a little girl right? So basically, they could put this at the end of the movie so the movie itself doesn't end on a sad note with Rhona's death and kind of a cliff hanger ending with Victor "saving" her as a little girl. That means no Kate Beckinsale. Or, they could completely ignore this event and not even put it in the film at the end. But I think they will.

    Looks better than I thought it would. Only problem with a prequel, is knowing how it ends... She gets executed, and he dissapears only to return in the first Underworld movie. I still want to see it though.

    This looks incredible. Too bad it wasn't the first movie, but I like the fact that they are going back into the history of the blood feud between the lycans and death dealers. In a war, all sides believe they are right. A lot of the truth was revealed in the first bout of Underworld. But this goes beyond, back to the beginning of the six-hundred year war. Before Seline...After the creations of both types, the oppression of one and the supremacy of the other, the the worlds colliding. The beginning of a raging war with all horns locked. This is going to be exciting.
