Uma Thurman has just signed on to star as the nanny in the film adaptation of Eloise in Paris by the famous children's author Kay Thompson. According to Variety, Charles Shyer will direct the film. He also wrote the script with his daughter Hallie Meyers-Shyer and Larry Spencer.

Thurman will star as Nanny, the caretaker of Eloise, the central figure in the books. Shyer is now in the process of looking for a young actress to play Eloise. He stated that he adapted the Nanny role with Thurman in mind.

Eloise in Paris is scheduled to start filming in June.

Eloise in Paris was released in 2009 and stars Uma Thurman, Jordana Beatty, Lino Facioli, Marcus Vigneron-Coudray. The film is directed by Charles Shyer.
