THE JOKER
@the-movieghost haha I was kidding... honestly I haven't read them either.. there are a number of books out there that if I know they are making a movie out of them, I won't read the book until after the movie! Usually if I read the book first, I end up hating the movie for the things they changed!

THE JOKER
He does look a bit more realistic than he did in the trilogy... I'm sure this pic isn't even fully cleaned up, and he still looks better... I'm hopeful these movies will be good... Jackson has put out some crap films recently!

so pleased with Gollums design- somehow its improved but just picture perfect- and the photography- the phtogenic genius- they way it looks texturally right apart from what it was growing back in 01 02 03

Plus like you said, these things always look better in motion.

@bawnian-dexeus there is also the continuity issue. change Gollum too much and you get backlash. Remeber the "updated" yoda in Phantom menace before he was replaced by CGI. Lucas' response was that he was younger but audiences were very aware of how the original yoda looked and were quite rabid as to his appearence change.

I love how they're going for seamless continuity, here! Hopefully, they'll integrate this scene into a future release of Fellowship of the Ring.

@skywise I'm just saying, the man has spent 250 for both movies and the least I would expect is a polished Gollum. That, or the picture doesn't do the character justice.

@bawnian-dexeus Thats a good thing IMO. As @the-movieghost said below.....
The thing about Gollum that was so intruiging was that he looked very cartoonish but the character depth and Serkis' voice acting and movements in the body suit made me forget about all that and drew me in to the story. I am looking forward to more of the same here.
