Two Rise of the Planet of the Apes Primate Behavior Viral Videos

Two very creep viral videos have immerged from Japan in support of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. These short clips are from director Rupert Wyatt's own personal collection of Primate Behavior videos that he used as reference for the film. The first shows a chimpanzee playing a video game, the second captures a gorilla walking upright. Are they real? Or are they the work of WETA, the effects house behind Rise of the Planet of the Apes? Check out the videos below and decide for yourself!


Rise of the Planet of the Apes was released August 5th, 2011 and stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo, Tyler Labine, Jamie Harris. The film is directed by Rupert Wyatt.

    Anyone that has ever played an FPS game can tell the chimp isnt playing... the fingers are moving too slow! (The game seems to be FarCry 2)

    What gives away the first video is the fact that the chimp isn't pressing the R1 button (which is the shooting button), he's just smashing buttons and looking at a TV.

    BTW, I actually went to the zoo today (I wanted to see the apes again after watching the new trailer yesterday and the 3rd Apes movie). I saw a gorilla throw up his food and re-eat over and over, about 15 times till I left.

    Great choice of game, Far Cry 2. Learn the chimps how to kill people using weapons. Irony is the setting of the game.
