This film may quench the unsatisfied thirst that movie goers desire to see more of this true middleweight boxing legend as well as newcomers who want to see an action film that shows how a man's inner drive can overcome life's obstacles. Raging Bull II fills in the gaps and allows us to get to know Jake LaMotta. It answers such questions as what happened to him or what he was like as a youngster. LaMotta himself was present and providing guidance before and during the shoot.
Although Raging Bull gave us the adult version of Jake LaMotta, it did not provide the rare look into Jake's childhood nor the impact of the after effects of his violent life. Raging Bull II provides this much desired insight into the real-life struggle of a down-and-out pugilist who turns his anger, and abusive childhood into a boxing career. Although his brute force turned him into a middleweight champion, it also created challenges in his life.
The Bronx Bull comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Natasha Henstridge, Alicia Witt, Penelope Ann Miller, William Forsythe, James Russo, Joe Mantegna, Ray Wise, Paul Sorvino. The film is directed by Martin Guigui.

When they finish production, they'll start on the Citizen Kane sequel...

I think this is taking on a Joaquin Phoenix as a touring rapper, if you get my drift.

They could have made the same film and named it something else; it would just have been a different movie on the same person. Right now their intentions are clear: cash in on the Raging Bull name because they can't think of any other way to attract attention to their project. Still, I can look beyond the title and see a film for itself despite the tasteless marketing ploy.

@pjwolsker Forsythe is one of my favorite actors however you are correct he is no De Niro. And he basically takes any role given to him.

I'll nominate this film for "Worst Idea of the Year, if not the history of cinema". Although, I will only give it a small amount of respect if it's in black and white like the Original.
