Twilight Sinks Its Fangs Into the 36th Annual People's Choice Awards

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Twilight nabbed four trophies this evening at the 36th Annual People's Choice Awards. The event, which took place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, was hosted by Queen Latifah.

The four awards were for favorite movie, franchise and onscreen team for the trio of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Lautner also grabbed the breakout male actor award.

Sandra Bullock took home a trophy for favorite movie actress. Hugh Jackman grabbed one as favorite action star. The Proposal won as favorite comedy movie and Up won for favorite family movie.

Sacha Baron Cohen, as himself, presented Johnny Depp with a special award as favorite movie actor of the decade.

Vampires also did will in TV as the HBO show True Blood, and the CW's The Vampire Diaries were picked as favorite TV obsession and favorite new TV drama.

Inglourious Basterds also grabbed a trophy as favorite independent movie.

Mariah Carey, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Ashton Kutcher, Taylor Swift and Ellen DeGeneres also picked up awards..

American Idol won for favorite competition show. Glee picked up honors as favorite new TV comedy.

Steve Carell won for favorite TV comedy actor. Alyson Hannigan won for favorite TV comedy actress. The Big Bang Theory took home a trophy for favorite TV comedy, House as favorite TV drama, Hugh Laurie as favorite TV drama actor and Supernatural won for favorite fantasy TV show.

Twilight was released November 21st, 2008 and stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Cam Gigandet, Ashley Greene, Christian Serratos. The film is directed by Catherine Hardwicke.

The Proposal was released June 19th, 2009 and stars Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, Mary Steenburgen, Craig T. Nelson, Betty White, Denis O'Hare, Malin Akerman, Oscar Nuñez. The film is directed by Anne Fletcher.

Up was released May 29th, 2009 and stars Edward Asner, Christopher Plummer, Jordan Nagai, Bob Peterson, Delroy Lindo, Jerome Ranft, John Ratzenberger, David Kaye. The film is directed by Pete Docter, Bob Peterson.

Inglourious Basterds was released August 21st, 2009 and stars Brad Pitt, Mélanie Laurent, Christoph Waltz, Eli Roth, Michael Fassbender, Diane Kruger, Daniel Brühl, Til Schweiger. The film is directed by Quentin Tarantino.
