Twilight Sequel Moves Forward

Get ready for the squeals... According to Deadline Hollywood Daily, Summit Entertainment is already prepping for a sequel to their highly-anticipated film, Twilight, which is still more than a month from its November 21 release.

Still, the move is quite the no-brainer. The soundtrack is already in the Top 5 for pre-orders on Amazon, a Borders calendar sold out in days and the potential franchise has the most lucrative merchandising sales since Harry Potter, which is even more interesting since Twilight took over the November 21 release date vacated by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

No definitive plans were announced, though, and it isn't clear whether Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke will return. We'll certainly keep you updated on this story as soon as more information comes to light.

Twilight was released November 21st, 2008 and stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Cam Gigandet, Ashley Greene, Christian Serratos. The film is directed by Catherine Hardwicke.

    I'm not saying that it isn't okay for people to hate twilight. i just find it ridiculous that people come on here and bitch about how much they don't like it and how much they think it sucks when other people enjoy it. how would they like it if someone basically took a crap on something they enjoyed? they wouldn't like it.

    damm heroinxxoo do u need a pad...lol..its just a damm book and movie...and besides the book was dumb it was completly stupid..and the movie there killing it cause there giving all these trailers and movie clips and sh*t..also everybody hyping it up but i mean c'mon its not going to be like dark knight..not even close to it. its just one of those that show in theaters then it gets better reviews when it comes out on dvd..

    Well Comrade, I was just going to yell for your bashing of "Twilight," but since you said that my FAVORITE author (Anne Rice), is far superior, I'm no longer mad. Cell, you said that EXACT SAME THING on a thread for the "Twilight" movie a while back, think of something new.

    This sequel will be called "New Moon," like the book, and it'll be awesome. Just like "Twilight" will. The books are good, too. Oh and Psycho, shut up. lolz.

    I've never read the book, but based on what I've heard from people that have, it's like a semi-erotic romance novel involving human-like vampires.

    That's probably the only reason the movie will sell. I don't blame them, all of the desperate and likely unattractive women in need of an unrealistic man will send this and the original skyrocketing straight to the top of the box office. Who knows, maybe the sequel will have a nude scene? I can seem them all doubling over on popcorn butter now.

    Twilight was such a porrly written book. I couldn't get past the first 150 pages. And don't give me that "How do you know it was terrible if you didn't finish it" bullsh*t. When a book sucks that much for that long, it's just too bad to read. The only reason it's so popular is that teenage girls can't understand Anne Rice's (far superior) work, so they look for their semi-erotic release in drivel like this. That's why it's so popular with pent up religious girls.

    I tired to read the book "Twilight" & found it soooo boring!!! I gave up after Chapter 2! I have no interest in this film!!

    Hollywood studios can move "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" or even the film "Inkheart", but crap like this they just push the release date forward!
