Tron: Legacy brings in $3.5 million from midnight screenings
The Joseph Kosinski sequel also broke the IMAX midnight screening record earning $1 million, or 25%, of its midnight grosses from select IMAX theaters. Tron: Legacy opened on 228 IMAX screens last night, although a snowstorm forced several Southeastern locations to close due to the weather.
Tron: Legacy's $3.5 million midnight gross is on par with Avatar's haul from last year. Tron: Legacy opens in 3,451 theaters across the country today. Be sure to check back on Sunday to see how this sci-fi adventure fared in theaters over the weekend.
Tron: Legacy was released December 17th, 2010 and stars Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner, James Frain, Beau Garrett, Michael Sheen, Anis Cheurfa. The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski.

Went to the midnight showing at my local place. Packed out ,as always. However, we got crap seats so Idk. The 3D was still an eye sore, and darker than expected. Still it was better than any other 3D film this year. I say go to 2D, or if you need 3D, go IMAX if possible.
