And I agree, 2010 was a pretty abysmal year for movies. My biggest hope for 2011 is Green Lantern. I don't care if everything else fails, so long as that movie rocks.

Oops, forgot about True Grit. So 6 pending.

I'll refrain from doing a list til January. I still have Black Swan, 127 Hours, HP7, Tron, Kings Speech to see yet, not bout to make a lit with 5 pending.

  8. The Narrator: The Better Man

    Lol for me:

    Inception
    The Social Network
    Black Swan
    127 Hours
    The Town
    Shutter Island
    How To Train Your Dragon
    Toy Story 3
    True Grit
    Hereafter

(Those are the films I'd nominate for BP, except I haven't seen True Grit or Black Swan.)

Overall, this year was one of the worst for movies.

well I choose in my Oscar 2011
    Inception
    The Town
    The Social Network
    Toy Story 3
    How To Train Your Dragon
    The Kids Are All Right
    Let Me In
    Easy A
    127 Hours
    and could be
Harry potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 or The Warrior's Way

But I'll let you know as the months go on and we start getting screeners in, and screening invites, what is starting to look more likely. Biutiful has had some great reception, but it might too foreign for a BP nom.

@Dave - I was going to put How to Train Your Dragon, instead of Alice. But I think expecting the fuddy duddies who are in charge of this thing, actually cede to nominate TWO animated pics for BP, is wishful thinking.

I know Alice in Wonderland was horrible. But these people who choose these movies and vote on them, don't care. It's what they remember and what made the biggest impression. Alice made a lot of $$. I'm hoping it doesn't, but movies that are 'smaller' and are released too early in the year rarely make the pass, simply because Academy members have memories as leaky as the Titanic.

  22. killerman200

If they are still doing that 10 movie thing for best picture, then I'm pretty sure it will get nominated. As much as I didn't like it, I'm not surprised it's getting Oscar buzz.
