Paramount wants the next installment to be in 3D
According to Variety, there have been discussions among Michael Bay, Paramount and Industrial Light & Magic about going 3D with the pic. The big stumbling block is the extra time required to do production and visual effects in 3D, as the movie's release date is already set. Having the film post-converted could alleviate that problem.
Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg worked together on the plot for the next chapter.
Transformers 3 will hit theaters July 1st, 2011.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon was released June 29th, 2011 and stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Julie White, Kevin Dunn, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Alan Tudyk, John Malkovich. The film is directed by Michael Bay.

Actually, when I was done watching TF2 I sorta had this angry gas face going on...
TF1 was pretty cool, except for A.Anderson playing the screaming black guy role.
Let's all be f*cking honest here, the equation of Megan Fox and top notch CGI are all the aesthetic variables most shmoes need to pay for a movie. It's unfortunate tho, I mean there is a lot of depth and storytelling in the animated show, but w/o totally ditching the human actors, I don't see much potential for critical acceptance.

gandoff, thanks for proving you're an *sshole. I didn't hate the first movie, I liked it. But the second moview was just terrible. The acting was bad, the story was bad, there were too many pointless scenes and charatcters, and even the action was boring (except for the forest fight). So sad to see the movie sucked.

You all who hate the two Transformers movies so far,,, Your retards. I am a 80's kid. tranformers, thundercats, He-man, Silver Hawks,, ect.. They was what cartoons was about then. The First Trasformers was alsome. The Second was not as good, but still kicked ass. You so called fans from those shows when we was young, you should stop crying. I am so sick of you babies saying this will suck, that sucks, boo freakin ho. I bet when you walked out from seeing the movie, you all had a grin on your face, thinking that was real kool. Then you started thinking. Wait a sec. 40 foot tall transforming robots dont exsist. So that was not that good... All I have to say about this news though... 3D sucks. I have not and will not watch a 3D movie until it gets good. Since this movie will have a non 3D version, why spend money on making one. Why would someone want to spend 14 bucks when they can spend half and see the same movie, just with out a chesse hand reach out at you and not look good any way.

Moviemaniack what do you mean "look back to when Titanic swept the oscars." Everyone was expecting it to win. I sure was. SO thats not a good example. And if recreating new technology and working for years means your "Best Director" material, then Jackson should have won for FOTR, Two towers, (he already won for RotK) and AGAIN for King Kong. did he? No. did cameron win for Abyss (his best work to date)? No. So years of hard work and incredible effects seldom pay off.
For me the biggest "game changer" was Return of the King. Tying with Titanic in Oscar wins and coming in at third all time Highest Grossing movie... not to mention its also over 3 hours long and about orcs and hobbits. Now that was a "sweep". Avatar won't get anywhere near as much wins. I say 5 max.

Good news!! Hurray since it's supposedly in 3d this may well be the end of a series which really made no sense and it contradicted itself from one movie to the other. It was so far removed from the source material I can only hope that there is another cartoon movie that really sticks to the source material and hopefully uses the "G1" characters.
