The Walt Disney Studios has announced that its live-action release previously known as 1952 will be titled Tomorrowland.

The film will be released domestically on December 19, 2014. George Clooney (The Descendants) is set to star.

Tomorrowland is written by Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird from a concept by Damon Lindelof and Jeff Jensen. Damon Lindelof (Star Trek Into Darkness, Prometheus) will produce and Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol) will produce and direct.

Tomorrowland is one of the many theme lands at the five Disney theme parks around the world owned or licensed by The Walt Disney Company. Each version of the land is different and features numerous attractions that depict views of the future. Walt Disney was known for his futurist views and, through his television programs, showed the American public how the world was moving into the future. Tomorrowland was the realized culmination of his views.

No plot details have been revealed for Tomorrowland. It is not known how it will connect with the Disney theme parks or the attractions that are part of Tomorrowland. One of the most popular Tomorrowland rides is Space Mountain, which has long been rumored to be getting a film adaptation of its own. Could this be it? Let us know what you think.

Tomorrowland comes to theaters May 22nd, 2015 and stars George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Raffey Cassidy, Thomas Robinson, Britt Robertson, Kathryn Hahn. The film is directed by Brad Bird.

I don't care about the title. I've been on board on with this ever since I heard Bird and Clooney were attached -- more so for Clooney, but all the same. This is easily one of my most anticipated films of 2014.

@narrator From what I heard, it's a mixture of both. George Clooney plays a man who has numerous contacts from aliens and I'm assuming he pitches this vision he has called "Tomorrowland" to Walt Disney.

Will this be a biopic about Disney, or a story set in the 50's about an event that happened in Tomorrowland? I'm sincerely hoping the latter, but even the former is preferred to a modern day-based Disney film.
