So iv just been holidaying in Australia which might I add was Freaking Amazing!!! wow what a place to go! So I have seen the movie. I thought red dawn when i saw the trailer to but this movie kicks it in the ass. After watching it i decided to read the book which were brilliant. really well written. Also i noted that these books came first so it would seem that red dawn is actually a bad ripoff of this one. Sorry americans but we have to face the facts cause im american to. I actually cant wait for the next film but i guess ill have to wait forever. I highly reccomend reading the books guys. For those that say unrealistic do remmeber it is FICTION and one of the reasons its such a good book is because of the shock of "wow Australia invaded, what the hell"

To all you nay sayers and poo-poo-ers. You know nothing. This series of books, for those of you who can read or bother to pick up a book, is one of the most successful on the planet and left the veiled attempt of Red Dawn behind in an instant. But as with anything, The americans simply want to own everything and say that theyre the best when all theyre really good at is throwing a big budget and brand name actors at a film to make it successful. Heaven forbid they should actually take credit for a great story based on merit.

I saw a pre-screening of this movie last night. The fresh cast of more than capabale actors have shown how seriously they wanted to portray this story. It's not about one american at the top of a hill brandishing propoganda and kickassery. It's a story that confronts our moral nature and realistically - I'll say it again, "realistically" delivers the emotional turmoil and crisis that the books portrayed.
For all of you that want to stick to your block buster movies with hard core action, go and revisit that section in your video store and entertain yourself before you try to evolve enough to offer any valued criticism of this movie.
Brilliant, cant wait to see the next installment A+

I actually might see this. The book was decent, not one of the best i've ever read, but decent enough. I don't know tho, they could f*ck it up. So we will have to see....

I love how all of you think that the entire world revolves around america. The Tomorrow Series books were written before Red Dawn was ever thought of, so if anything is a rip off its Red Dawn of this. And all actors are unknown at some point. And a few of these actors aren't unknown. The red head is wendy from peter pan, the lead character is from an extremely succesful tv show over here. get your facts straight before you judge.Strangely enough people from other countries can think too.

The series of books were fantastic. They were written by John Marsden, a former school teacher who wanted to highlight that young people can do amazing things. Plus the idea of Australia being invaded although unlikely is not unrealistic. Australia is one of the largest exporters of Uranium, iron ore, coal, gas and gold, with the main importer being China. Australia only has a population of 22,000,000. If a power like China wanted to invade us, they could.

this is definitely the Australian version of Red Dawn honestly where do you think the idea of the book came from?? but you can always appreciate a new spin on old classics like predators for example. but i guess i'll check it out when it hits video.

As an Australian, I was pretty excited to see the trailer for this. Looks like it'll make a great film adaption of one of the most celebrated book series in Australia (and the world). If you pick up the book and give it a read, you'll notice differences to Red Dawn, among other things... Looks very good. Lincoln Lewis is typecast unfortunately.

I don't think this movie has anything good going for it, unless the book was good. Cheesy poster, unknown actors, horribly unrealistic plot...it'll bomb for sure.
