Tom Hardy Says Bane Is 'Not' the Joker in The Dark Knight Rises

Tom Hardy recently discussed his version of Bane for the second installment of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures Batman series, The Dark Knight Rises.

Here, he talks about the voice of the villian and how he sees it progressing.

"It's a risk, because we could be laughed at-or it could be very fresh and exciting. The audience mustn't be too concerned about the mumbly voice. As the film progresses, I think you'll be able to tune to its setting."

The actor spoke about the different directions that he could have taken in the role.

"There were two doors we could walk through. We could play a very straightforward villain or we could go through this very quirky door, which is totally justified by the text but may seem very, very stupid."

He also explains his character in a comparison to the joker.

"The Joker didn't care...He just wanted to see the world burn, and he was a master of chaos and destruction, unscrupulous and crazy. Bane is not that guy. There is a very meticulous and calculated way about Bane. There is a huge orchestration of organization to his ambition. He is also a physical threat to Batman. There is nothing vague about Bane. No jokes. He's a very clean, clear villain."

The Dark Knight Rises was released July 20th, 2012 and stars Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Liam Neeson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

Bane isn't Joker, he's the bulldozer that broke Batman and despite what they say I still think this will topple TDK getting C.N back in the saddle for a fourth film.
Don't believe the hype until there is hard fact evidence.

Good, he doesn't need to be. In all honesty, I don't see why people wanted Joker back for TDKR. Yes, Ledger's performance was OUTSTANDING and to say otherwise is a flat out lie. But his story ended. Reprising Joker with or without Ledger had such a margin for disappointment had it not lived up to TDK. I'm stoked on Bane being Bane.
