Tom Hardy Replaces Sam Worthington in This Means War

We reported last month that Avatar star Sam Worthington had been circling a film stuck in development for years and now it seems he is off the project and they have finally locked in a male lead. Vulture is reporting that Tom Hardy has stepped in and closed a deal to star in the film This Means War.

Hardy will star alongside Chris Pine, who will both play fellow spies and longtime friends who wage all-out covert warfare against each other when they both fall for the same woman (Reese Witherspoon).

Our original report last month also indicated that Worthington might also star in a film entitled Man on a Ledge and we reported just yesterday that Worthington had been confirmed to star in that film, with Asger Leth in talks to direct.

We'll be sure to keep you posted with any further details on This Means War as soon as we have more information.

This Means War was released February 17th, 2012 and stars Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Tom Hardy, Til Schweiger, Chelsea Handler, John Paul Ruttan, Abigail Spencer, Angela Bassett. The film is directed by McG.

@HighCaliberINC, yes definitely check out Bronson. I saw an early showing for that movie before it hit theaters at my school and we all loved his performance, which made me all the more excited for Inception when I found out he was in it.

Tom Hardy is the man... He was cool in Inception, but for those who don't know...check out "Bronson" to see a crazy flick that this guy should have won a friggin oscar for.
