According to Variety, Universal Pictures has set up Talk of the Town as a star vehicle for Tom Hanks, tapping Nia Vardalos to write the pic.

Vardalos also made a deal at Revolution Studios to rewrite the romantic comedy "I Hate Valentine's Day," which she will star in.

The U deal puts Vardalos back together with Playtone, where Hanks, partner Gary Goetzman and Rita Wilson produced the bigscreen adaptation of her one woman show My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
