"I've talked about doing different videos with the character," Cruise said. "I've started working with Ben [Stiller] on it, and we've kind of talked about different things to do. We were gonna do some in our free time, but we haven't found the free time...yet."
He doesn't rule out a full-length feature film centered on Grossman: "He's a fun character," said Cruise, who will next be seen in the real-life WWII thriller Valkyrie. "I gotta talk to Ben, but there could be more to do with that guy."

Yeah, I don't know why people decided to give him such a hard time when he just gave his views on the world (no matter how crazy one might think they are). I did not like the anti-Jew rap that Mel Gibson went on but it still does not affect how much I like Lethal Weapon or the many other good movies he has done. No matter what Tom Cruise does in his personal life, I will still have Minority Report, Mission Impossible, and, yes, Top Gun in my library of films.

No... you're not nitpicking JJ... you're absolutely right. He DID NOT win it. I got ahead of myself. He was ONLY nominated for best actor in that role AND... he was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor in Magnolia. You're right... he's oh for two.
But... I was just trying to say that the guy is way past having a breakout performance. He's been there and done that. He's a damn good actor who is usually banakable for studios.

I think Tom Cruise is an underrated actor. Who cares what he does, or anyone else for that matter, in his personal life.

Oh, God. I can't believe I'm about to be a nitpicker, but he was only nominated for Born on the Fourth of July... I apologize, it's out of my system now. Anyway, it was still a great movie with a great performance.
As far as Les Grossman is concerned, I'm all for the short vids but I have to agree that I'm unsure about a feature-length film based on the character. He was still a funny character to watch, though.

MovieBuff is right, say what you will about his attitudes or his personal life, Tom Cruise is a great actor.
Len Grossman, is a f*cking hilarious character. His scenes were probably my favorite part of that movie, next to Downey's performance. I don't know if the character can support a whole film, but he could definitely be a secondary (or, if we're looking at a buddy comedy about some actors or something) a tertiary character.

Comicbookguy..... "I think this was a break out performance for Cruse showing he's not just a crazy scientologist but a greaf actor...". What the hell are you talking about? Where you been the past twenty years? Breakout performance? The guy won an Oscar already for Born on the 4th of July. Cruise had his "breakout" performance twenty years ago. He's already proven he's a great actor... he just gets crapped on because of his beliefs and the fact he's outspoken with them. His beliefs DO NOT effect his talent, obviously. But this is NOT his "breakout" performance. "Great" performance... yes. "Breakout"... no.

Ummm...yo "Holla," we don't like it because it's not a good idea. He was created as a supporting character and he'll only work as one. Forget that he's an "awesome character" and actually THINK...moron

It's not a character for a feature but cameos in other films would be great. I agree that Black was wasted in the film though.

I loved Cruise's performance and thought he and Downey made the movie but I do not think a feature film is the way to go. Maybe the videos, but not a theatrical release. He was made as a "surprise" character to get people talking. Like Kupo said, it was fun to see him pretty much mock himself. He works best as a supporting character, not a main one

I disagree with Kupo I think the character was one of the best in the film and much better than some of the others including Jack Black's I think this was a break out performance for Cruse showing he's not just a crazy scientologist but a greaf actor and I give him prop for taking the role and running with it.

the character was pretty funny in tropic thunder, but mostly because there was alot of the shock factor running behind it. Cruise has been called crazy in the headlines alot, so seeing him kinda make fun of his own antics was fairly surprising.
It's like when they had Cruise play as austin powers in gold member. It was a nice special guest appearance, nothing more than that. I honestly dont see this character as being able to hold up a feature-length film. The surprising fun factor has worn off. If i saw tom cruise rapping and dancing again, i wouldn't even show as much of a smirk.
