Tom Cruise confirms his involvement in Top Gun 2
"I said to Tony (Scott) I want to make another movie with him. He and I haven't made a film since Days of Thunder. Tony and I and Jerry (Bruckheimer), we never thought that we would do it again. Then they started to come to us with these ideas of where it is now. I thought, 'Wow, that would be ... what we could do now.'"
We reported in October that Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (Thor, X-Men: First Class) are writing the screenplay, which will revolve around current Air Force pilots, who fly drone planes via remote control.
"I hope we can figure this out to go do it again. If we can find a story that we all want to do, we all want to make a film that is in the same kind of tone as the other one and shoot it in the same way as we shot Top Gun."

Well the AF still fly's the T-38 Talon / "Mig" everybody was so concerned about in the original. Mabye they can scrounge up some moth-balled F-14's and make a go of it.

In actuallity Mr. Cruise is too Short to be a pilot-He would have to be another 3 inches in order to do so...Anthony Edwards on the other hand is more than Tall enough! Just pointing out Major film Flubb!!!
