Toby Kebbell Is The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Toby Kebbell has boarded the cast of Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, signing on to portray Drake Stone, a celebrity illusionist who joins forces with Alfred Molina's evil sorcerer, Horvath, to gain ultimate powers, according to Variety.

The Jerry Bruckheimer production is based on the popular "Sorcerer's Apprentice" segment in Disney's animated classic Fantasia. The story revolves around a college student who is recruited to work reluctantly for a sorcerer and given a crash course in magic to help him battle dark forces in Manhattan.

Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel and Teresa Palmer star in the film, directed by Jon Turteltaub.

Production is currently underway in New York City, and will be released July 16, 2010.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice was released July 14th, 2010 and stars Jay Baruchel, Nicolas Cage, Monica Bellucci, Alfred Molina, Toby Kebbell, Ethan Peck, Teresa Palmer, Peyton List. The film is directed by Jon Turteltaub.

    This movie is going to suck so bad. Does anyone remember that picture with Nicholas Cage in that modern wizard outfit. It was so awful and horribly cheesey. In other words, I laughed when I saw the picture. So far, things aren't looking to good for this movie.

    I'm a big fan of Cage and Molina but this just sounds retarded. And I love fantasies. I'll wait for a trailer, but so far, just from the description, this doesn't sound too promising.

    Didn't they already start shooting this? They're playing this one by the seat of their ass if they're still casting after filming started

    Man, i think Cage is a great actor. But he just needs to hang up his acting gig or maybe do some independent stuff, or just enter into directing films, because this Disney sh*t, with the National Treasure. and his poor excuse for doing an action attempt in Bangkok Dangerous, is just showing me that this guy doesn't have it anymore.

    Toby Kebbell is a fantastic actor (see Dead Mans Shoes) and really deserves some decent mainstream roles...I just hope that a Nick Cage movie can deliver that based on his last 10 years of output.
