Tobey Maguire will produce the animated adaptation Cardboard
The story is based on Douglas TenNapel's graphic novel about a young boy who receives only a cardboard box for his birthday from his widowed father. They both turn the box into a boxer named Bill, who somehow comes to life. The duo must protect their creation from the neighborhood bully, who has nefarious plans for Bill. Tobey Maguire will primarily be involved as a producer, although he may voice one of the main roles.
Chris Wedge is considering taking the helm, although it doesn't seem that a screenwriter has been brought on board to write the adapted screenplay yet. Douglas TenNapel will executive produce alongside producers Tobey Maguire and Chris Wedge.
No production schedule was released at this time.
