TNT Renews The Closer for a Fourth Season

TNT has renewed the Kyra Sedgwick police drama The Closer, cable's most-watched series this July with nearly 8 million viewers, for a fourth season.

According to Variety, during the last four episodes of the season, the series claimed the top four spots among the month's most-watched cable programs.

The show, in which Kyra Sedgwick plays an offbeat LAPD investigator, continues to attract viewers in its third season.

The trade paper states that the show's audience is fairly old, where only about 25% of its audience is comprised of 18-49ers.

Great summer show. Does anyone remember when summer meant nothing but reruns for 3 months?

Mrs. Bacon has a "hit" TV show...the matrix portal starts there. Who watches that drivel...Personally, I'm sick of procedural cop shows. I'd better see exotic car theft rings or gorgeous latin women worked into future cop shows or I'll quit caring about flawed by the book leads and their ever sighing underlings who over emote to garner the housewives demographic. Have I said too much? Do I need to quit smoking? Is the summer humidity ever going to let up?
