Robbins to portray Senator Hammond
Robbins will play Senator Hammond, the disapproving father of the movie's villain, Dr. Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard), who becomes infused with psychic powers.
Ryan Reynolds stars as Green Lantern, with Blake Lively as the hero's love interest, Carol Ferris.
Green Lantern was created in 1940 by writer Bill Finger and artist Martin Nodell. Hal Jordan introduced in 1959, a second-generation test pilot, is an ordinary man who was given the power ring and battery (lantern) by a dying alien named Abin Sur. When Abin Sur's spaceship crashed on Earth, the alien used his ring to seek out an individual to take his place as Green Lantern: someone who was "utterly honest and born without fear."
Production will begin in New Orleans in March.
Green Lantern was released June 17th, 2011 and stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Temuera Morrison, Jenna Craig, Jon Tenney, Mike Doyle. The film is directed by Martin Campbell.

Great news Robbins is great everyone overlooks Jacob's Ladder but it's a brilliant film and Tim gave a fantastic performance. I hope Green Lantern turns out well

Hey look everybody, Brian's dismissing yet another super hero movie based only on the fact that it's a superhero movie. Who knows, it could be awesome and we've never seen this character on screen before, but that doesn't matter since Avatar came out and totally "flipped his mind."
