Tim Burton has not lined up any of his upcoming projects
MTV immediately reached out to Burton's people for comment, and they've responded with some clarification after speaking with the filmmaker himself. "There is no truth to the story. Tim has not lined up any of his upcoming projects." Pay extra attention to that second sentence.
We also reported back in January that Burton could possibly direct a new film based off the Sleeping Beauty villain Maleficent, with a new film told from her point of view, and we also reported a few weeks ago that Burton would produce Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter with his fellow 9 producer Timur Bekmambetov. It isn't quite clear where either of these projects are in development.
We'll be sure to keep you posted with any and all news regarding Tim Burton's next film as soon as we have more information.

I totally agree with Raoul Duke, to see something original from burton. i think burton is amazing at putting his own twist and vision on material that already exists, i.e Batman, Charlie and the chocolate factory, sleepy hollow, alice in wonderland, planet of the...err... nvm, the last one. but i really enjoy his original films as well, and always like delving in the mind of tim burton. If he does any remake, i would love to personally see his vision of a Wizard of Oz remake, or reimagining :)

We've had two Addams Family movies and they were both awesome with amazing casts: Raul Julia, Christopher Lloyd, young Christina Ricci. I'd rather see something else from Burton. Something original and not an adaptation, remake, etc.

I love Tim's ability to make films. I love his, dark and yet bright at the same time apprach to a story. A example being the first two origianl Batman films with Keaton. Dark, yet colorful with the villians. As a remake, or a retelling of the Adams Familey might work, despite that the origianl two movies was ok, I don't see the other movies being good. The Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter will bomb. It can not be good. And a Sleeping Beauty film based on the point of view of the villian is not something that seams like a good stroy. I like the idea of him doing old fariey tales in his version of light and reality. But not so if it is to paint a good light on the villians. They are villians for a reason.
