Now that Tony Stark has gone public with his alter-ego "Iron Man" - there is no telling what evil force will come forward to battle the invincible "Iron Man!"
Iron Man 2 comes to theaters May 7, 2010 from Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios.
Iron Man 2 was released May 7th, 2010 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Jon Favreau.

Cheadle looks more like Rhodes and may pull off War Machine better than Howard could have, but Howard had a chemistry with Downey that we now expect. Also now the line in the first film, "Next time, baby," almost doesn't make sense. Whatever the case may be about Howard not knowing he was fired, I am going to watch Cheadle's performance closely and hope he impresses. He almost needs to bring more to the table with the character than what Howard did, however that may not be too hard considering he will be The War Machine.

I think they mainly had a public salary dispute and decided to go with somebody else. Maybe they felt Cheadle was more the part than Howard who knows.

So why did Terrance Howard depart from this role? It's not like he's going anywhere. No offense to his fans, but it's kinda true. Although I do like Don Cheadle and think he'll do great in this.

He's probly in court in front of a congessional hearing on his suit, due to the use in a war zone and stuff. Now the only thing I hate about the Ironman movies,is the fact he has gone public as Ironman. Most of the IM2 pics have been fine. But a Avengers Team movie needs to have all the main character movies on the roll to be made, or it will be 2020 before its done. Ironman, Thor, Captian America, Hulk, & Hawkeye all should be in the team movies.

maybe Rockwell and his team is trying to bring down Stark, by suing him or charges laid against him for whatever reasons, to cause a rift between Rockwell's character and Stark and heat up some controversy to fight

The Iron Man series is already a mess and I still haven't seen a single good picture from IM2 so far.
A part of me is afraid that The Avengers won't come out due to this and Thor not making money back.
Marvel should have started directly with the team movie.

Agreed Vampire. I was just watching the special features to Iron Man for no particular reason and was saying to myself, "I kind of wish Terrance wasn't replaced." Yet, I don't really have any big issues with Cheadle taking on the role, because I think he will do fine.
