Thor Trailer from Comic-Con 2010



Marvel Studios expands its film universe with a new type of superhero: Thor. This epic adventure spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Thor was released May 6th, 2011 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Kat Dennings, Clark Gregg, Idris Elba. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh.

    At the beginning of the whole comments discussion, I thought @Brian was just Trollin'. But then I watched the trailer.

    And I know, the hatemail will flow through the streets, drowning everything I love, but I'm just not as excited for this anymore (what little excitement I had). You COULD blame it on the fact that I've never been a fan of Thor, but I was really hoping this movie would change that for me, much like Incredible Hulk did.

    This just doesn't appeal to me. It's probably the campiness and over exageration. I'm just not a fan of purposeful over acting.

    @B. allen Orange, why do you think Captain America will bomb?

    @BloodandGuts Calm down, he's just voicing his opinion like everyone else (refer to @Charles comment about buttholes).

    they've gone now too. someone isn't happy about the leak. i thought the quality was excellent seeing as the trailer was all in 3D or so i heard from friends who saw it at comic-con.

    @nemesissis: As someone who has his expectations set very high for this film, I can assure you I loved the trailer. It has just the right amount of camp that an adaptation of Thor requires, and Hemsworth looks PERFECT in the role. I love it all, the look of Asgard, Anthony Hopkins' overacting, and how it seems to meld the Asgard and Earth storylines.

    To the idiot who called me a "dumbass" for claiming this would be a sci-fi film: Do you believe me now?

    if there is no Iron Man 3, why would it be listed as in development for 2012 I wonder? There was also an article a few months back where Favreau mentioned the Mandarin might be included. It's supposed to come out after the Avengers. I don't know about anyone else but Iron Man always looked cool from the earliest previews. I'm willing to admit I might be wrong about Thor, I haven't seen it, or read any marvel comics. I've only ever liked Batman. I gave Iron Man a chance and I'll probably give these other superhero movies a chance, lighten up.

    remember ironman 1 and how no one wanted anything to do with it back in 07 ...exactly and look at ironman now it was amazing
    Thor will be on par or better than iron man guarentee kenneth branagh knows what he is doing

    so far not liking it. I'm glad Agent Coleson is there, because he was hilarious in Iron Man and Iron Man 2, but the only good looking bits were the ones that carried over from Iron Man. I really dislike the art direction, especially the Valhalla parts. It looks more like a sci fi environment than ancient Norse. It also looks similar to Louis Leterrier's Mount Olympus from Clash of the Titans, which I also hated. I really don't see why, with all this crazy technology around that people can't make decent depictions of these mythological figures. The action movie bits seemed ok, but it seemed like several different movies and styles blended together. Anthony Hopkins looks cool as Odin though, I'll give it that. All in all probably not going to see this or Captain America. Give me Iron Man 3!
