Visual effects master Thor Freudenthal has been tapped to directed Hotel for Dogs. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is being financed by DreamWorks Pictures.

Hotel for Dogs will be based on Lois Duncan's novel of the same name. The plot revolves around two orphaned teenagers who decide to hide a bunch of feral dogs in an old, unused hotel.

Jeff Lowell is writing the screenplay. Lauren Shuler Donner is producing. The film will begin shooting later this year.
